Only one holiday weekend behind its rival Intel released its dual-core Pentium D chipset, AMD this week announced the Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor that, much like Intel's offering, is aimed at rolling the new chip technology into the wider marketplace of desktop and notebook PCs, in addition to servers. AMD said the new processors -- backed by PC makers including Acer, Alienware, HP and Lenovo -- would deliver performance improvements of as much as 80 percent over single-core Athlon 64s on select digital media and productivity applications. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition comes to Flagstaff was a big hit. Yes its true folks, Native Americans have their own reality show now.

The program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, comes to Flagstaff for the family of PFC Lori Piestewa the Native American heroine killed in Iraq. This reality TV show that constructs new homes for deserving families throughout the country will air this season finale two hour episode on Sunday, May 22 on ABC at 8/7 central.

Film. Staff and the Sedona Film Office coordinated on an upcoming film project with Platinum Productions, Los Angeles, who is scheduled to film in June in northern Arizona.



Staff assisted with two film projects: Thunder Mountain Media from Los Angeles, for a reality show film project that focuses on Native Americans and worked with Ki Long, Navajo Nation Film Office and The Asylum Studios, Los Angeles on an upcoming project scheduled to film in June in Flagstaff.

Iomega aiming for 800GB DVDs | CNET News.com

Storage company Iomega is looking to increase the capacity of DVDs up to 100 times, meaning it could, conceivably, create 800GB discs.

The San Diego, Calif.-based company announced on Tuesday that it had been issued a patent, U.S. Patent No. 6,879,556, which covers a method of encoding data on the surface of a DVD so more data--on the order of 40 to 100 times that of current capacities--can be stored. Current DVDs can hold up to about 8.5GB of data. Data transfer speeds would also jump five to 30 times, according to the company
